Course outcomes:
Major earthquakes have a profound impact on everybody, either because they or their loved ones have been directly affected by dealing with the loss of someone in their lives, damage to property, services and income/turnover or because they have been involved in or witnessed traumatising events. Continual tremors causing further damage and risk to life make a return to work and daily life extremely difficult. Disasters such as the earthquakes we have lived through will have profound emotional consequences for a great many people. Having myself lived through these events and been working with companies and individuals it’s easy to notice patterns of confusion and disorientation, strong feelings of frustration, fear, sadness, guilt, anger and more. Some people have trouble sleeping, concentrating and working. Others may have distressing thoughts and images of the events. For many these problems will last and interfere with their ability to return to a normal routine. Because of this and to enable quicker transition to allow managers and employees to get up and running again, I have developed a specialised workshop aimed at strengthening personal and interpersonal wellbeing in order to create positive change and growth within organisations. Due to their unique structure, these workshops are highly applicable at both company and individual level
Dr Fayter has already delivered return to work earthquake support training to organisations such as IRD, The Just Group, Hallensteins, Airways NZ, Glassons, Richmond and more to enable management and staff to return to work more effectively
